Despatch and Delivery Policy
Delivery Cost.
Delivery to the UK Mainland (excluding the Scottish Highlands) is free for orders over £100 (excluding V.A.T).
The delivery charge for other orders is based on the total weight of your order. Our minimum charge is £3.25 (excluding V.A.T) and the maximum for any order under £100 (excluding V.A.T.) to the UK mainland (excluding the Scottish Highlands) is £7.45 (excluding V.A.T)
To check the actual charge of any order is simple:-
- add all the items you require to the shopping cart.
- select your delivery destination from the delivery method drop down menu.
The shopping cart will then calculate the delivery charge for your order.
You can add, remove and change the quantity of anything in the shopping cart as required. You are not obligated to buy anything unless you choose to complete the checkout procedure and enter your payment details.
Despatch.
While not being guaranteed orders are usually despatched (leave us) within 4 working days of receiving cleared payment, subject to stock availability and workload (unless a longer despatch time has already been stated in the item description).
Orders placed on this website at the weekend, a bank holiday or after 4.00pm on a working day will be treated as having been received by us the following working day.
Working days are usually Monday to Friday but exclude bank/public holidays. Special details about our Christams holidays will be published on this website during December. When calculating working days do not include the date we received your order (e.g. if we receive your order on a Monday, 1 working day = Tuesday, 2 = Wednesday, 3 = Thursday, 4 = Friday, 5 = the following Monday, etc.)
WE DO NOT OFFER AN EXPRESS SERVICE. Please don't email us asking if your order can be pushed ahead of other orders as we don't like having to say no, but we won't do it as it would be unfair to our many customers who allow adequate time to receive their order.
We do not despatch to the following;
- Any address outside the UK
- The Channel Islands
- PO Box addresses
- BFPO addresses
Delivery.
Orders for most of the UK mainland are usually delivered the next working day after despatch but is not guaranteed. We use a signed for service in most cases so please make sure someone will be available to sign for it.
Late Delivery.
Our Delivery service is not a guaranteed service, therefore we cannot accept any claims for late delivery.
Despatch Confirmation.
You will be sent an email notification when we despatch your order. If the email has been sent before 3.30pm Monday - Friday, then your order will leave our warehouse the same day. If the despatch email was sent after this time (or at a weekend or UK public holiday), your goods will be collected by the carrier on our next working day.
Delivery Method.
Depending on weight and destination delivery is made by Royal Mail or a commercial carrier such as UK Mail, DHL, etc. Whichever method is used a signature will be required on delivery, so please make sure someone will be available to sign for your order.
We will do everything we can to make sure your order arrives on time, but please allow for any adverse conditions which might affect deliveries to you, including (but not limited to) extreme weather or disruption to postal services, road network, airlines, etc.
Non-Delivery.
You will be sent an email notification when we despatch your order, in the event of non-delivery you should notify us no later than 5 working days after we send the despatch notification. In the unlikely event that you do not receive the despatch notification email within 4 working days of placing the order, then notification of non delivery must be made within 10 working days of the date of the original order, claims for non delivery will not be entertained after this period.
Failed Delivery Attempt.
If no one is available to sign for the goods at the first delivery attempt you will be left a delivery card with details of how to arrange a redelivery. If you do not respond to the card your order will be returned to us. You will then be liable for the delivery cost and any return costs levied on us.
Should there be any dispute as to whether a delivery card has been left, the recipient will have to take this up with the carrier themselves. Unfortunately we are unable to get involved in this sort of dispute as we are remote from the point of delivery.
If the carrier returns the goods to us as above and you want the order resending you will have to pay an additional charge to cover the redelivery and any return costs levied on us by the carrier. If you want us to treat the order as a return then we will refund you in accordance with our returns policy, less any return costs levied on us by the carrier. (Note: items that are not covered by our returns policy will not be refunded)
If the carrier is unable to deliver your order due to you providing us with an incomplete or inaccurate delivery addres you will be liable for any additional costs incurred. If it is returned to us and you want us to treat it as a return then we will refund you in accordance with our returns policy, less any return costs levied on us by the carrier. (Note: items that are not covered by our returns policy will not be refunded)
If you request that the carrier leaves your order without a signature (eg in the porch, in a shed, etc.) then you do so at your own risk. We will not accept any claim for non-delivery or damaged goods. |
